Description

As our CFO, you will be the architect of our financial success.

You will oversee all aspects of our financial operations, including financial planning & analysis (FP&A), accounting, treasury management, tax, and financial reporting.

More importantly, you will be a strategic partner, providing insightful guidance and analysis to fuel our growth initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management within the FinTech or related sectors, exceptional strategic thinking, and proven leadership capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • MBA, CFA, or other relevant advanced degree or certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Proven experience (7+ years) as a CFO or senior finance leader within the FinTech, financial services, or technology sectors.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading financial strategies in high-growth companies.
  • Strong understanding of financial modeling, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Deep understanding of the Nigerian FinTech landscape and regulatory environment (CBN, SEC).
  • Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial management, accounting principles, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Proficiency in financial software and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with the company's business objectives and growth plans.
  • Lead the financial planning and analysis function, providing insights and recommendations to the executive team.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance:
  • Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely financial statements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, complying with all regulatory requirements (CBN, SEC).
  • Manage relationships with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and other financial stakeholders.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting:
  • Lead the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions.
  • Risk Management:
  • Develop and implement robust risk management policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and mitigate financial risks, including market, credit, and operational risks.
  • Capital Management:
  • Oversee capital structure and manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial institutions.
  • Lead fundraising efforts, including equity and debt financing.
  • Operational Efficiency:
  • Implement financial systems and processes to enhance operational efficiency and support scalable growth.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives across the organization.
  • Leadership and Team Development:
  • Build and lead a high-performing finance team, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and collaboration within the finance department.
