Description
The programme “Skills Development for Youth Employment (SKYE II)” aims to improve the career opportunities of young Nigerians in the labour market. To achieve this, SKYE ll follows an integrated approach to employment promotion.
The project focuses on the following areas: (1) policy development and public-private dialogue to promote exchange between state and private sector actors and to improve employment prospects; (2) vocational education and training: improvement of quality of training by the implementation of new occupational standards and capacity development of training institutions to deliver and roll out good quality training; (3) employment promotion: the creation of structures for career counselling and job placement as well as for the implementation of active labour market measures; (4) gender and social inclusion: advisory of government and relevant institutions to ensure equal access to opportunities, regardless of gender or background.
