Description
The Head, Environmental Health Safety & Quality is tasked with the responsibility of designing, implementing & managing the company’s EHS-Management System which comprises of hazard identification and mitigation, EHS planning & execution, competence assurance, EHS contractor management, and incident & non-conformance reporting & investigation amongst others. One of his main activities is monitoring and measuring compliance through weekly, monthly quarterly and annual KPIs for prevention and when necessary corrective actions preventing loss of life, damage to equipment & facilities and brand damage due to poor EHS management. He is expected through exemplary leadership & awareness to create an incident free operation. He is also tasked with engaging regulatory agencies to ensure all new or updated legislations are adopted as policy by the company as well as influence these agencies for a positive outcome to enhance operations and prevent programs delays. He attends all key EHS industry forums such as EHS-OPTS (Oil Producers Trade Section) to ensure policies being generated and agreed benefits the organisations operations as well as leveraging on the resources offered by these entities when required.
