Qualifications
- Valid Deck Officer certification.
- Valid Certificate of Competency (COC) as a Master Mariner.
- Master Mariner Class 2 certification (or higher) is required.
- Extensive knowledge of deck operations, cargo handling, and maritime safety regulations.
Responsibilities
- Manage all deck operations, including cargo handling, mooring operations, and maintenance of deck equipment.
- Oversee cargo operations, ensuring safe loading, unloading, and securing of cargo in accordance with regulations.
- Maintain vessel safety systems, including firefighting equipment, life-saving appliances, and navigation systems.
- Conduct navigation watches, ensuring safe navigation and compliance with collision regulations.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant maritime regulations, including SOLAS and MARPOL.
