Description

The X-ray Technician performs diagnostic imaging examinations, including X-rays, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

The technician operates X-ray equipment, positions patients, and captures high-quality images for interpretation by radiologists.

Qualifications

  • Certificate in radiologic technology
  • State licensure (where required)
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification
  • Strong communication and patient care skills
  • Ability to lift and move patients (up to 50 pounds)
  • Familiarity with digital radiography and PACS systems.
  • Nice to Have:
  • Experience with computed tomography (CT) or mammography
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMRs)
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills.

Responsibilities

  • Operate X-ray equipment to produce high-quality images
  • Position patients correctly for X-ray examinations
  • Follow radiation safety guidelines to minimize exposure
  • Develop and process X-ray images
  • Maintain patient records and examination data
  • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals
  • Follow departmental policies and procedures
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities
  • Maintain equipment and supplies.
